Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with LumyxTech.

General

Are you an agency or a staffing company?

Both, depending on what you need. We offer managed DevOps as a full service, embedded DevOps staffing, and software development. Most clients come in through one of those and expand based on what they find once we start working together.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. We sign mutual NDAs before any substantive technical discussion. Our standard NDA covers confidentiality of code, architecture, business terms, and client relationships. If you have your own form, we are happy to review it.

Do you work with pre-funding startups?

Yes. For development work, we have an equity model designed specifically for pre-funding teams. The stake we take is proportional to how deep we go and how early you are. For DevOps at that stage, we assess on a case-by-case basis depending on urgency and scope.

Services

Can we start with one service and add more later?

Yes. Most clients start with a single service — usually DevOps-as-a-Service or a staffing placement — and expand as the engagement develops. There are no contracts that require you to commit to multiple services upfront.

Do you take on one-time projects or only ongoing engagements?

Both. We do fixed-scope projects — a pipeline migration, an infrastructure audit, an MVP build — as well as ongoing retainers. The pricing structure differs. Project work is scoped and priced upfront. Retainers are monthly with 30-day notice on either side.

Pricing

How much does DevOps-as-a-Service cost?

Engagements are scoped to the complexity of your infrastructure, so pricing varies. We quote after a free audit so you know exactly what you are paying for before you commit.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. We work on a monthly retainer with 30-day notice on either side. Most clients stay because the results continue. We do not need contracts to hold them.

What does DevOps staffing cost compared to hiring directly?

A direct hire for a senior DevOps engineer carries salary, benefits, equity, recruiting fees, and onboarding costs that compound quickly. Our staffing model delivers a senior embedded engineer at a substantially lower total cost, with no hiring overhead, no onboarding lag, and no single point of failure risk if that engineer leaves.

Process

What does the first month of an engagement look like?

We start with an infrastructure assessment in week one. By the end of week two, you have a prioritised list of gaps and a delivery plan. Weeks three and four are focused on the highest-impact items. Most clients see a meaningful change in their deployment process within the first 30 days.

What if things are not working out?

You tell us. We have a 30-day exit clause on all engagements. We also run a structured review at 60 days specifically to catch any misalignment early. In practice, the review conversation happens before things deteriorate.

Technical

Which cloud providers do you support?

AWS, GCP, and Azure. We work in whichever cloud your team already uses. If you have not committed to a cloud provider yet, we will help you make that decision as part of the initial assessment.

Do you work with on-premise or hybrid infrastructure?

Yes. Several of our clients in the MENA region operate hybrid environments with regulatory constraints on data residency. We scope those engagements specifically to account for the compliance requirements.
